Eliza Dushku as"Amy Gilbertson" Over the torment of her childhood, when she wants to be, Amy has made her path into a successful business woman after teaming up with her neighbor Yvonne to open up a bookstore together. Amy has also been successful in love; the first season she had a long term boyfriend, Nick Lewiston, and in the second season she ran into her old high school fling and they have picked things right back up where they used to be. Amy is very dedicated to her family and even though her and Karisa don't always see eye to eye, she knows what is best for her (Karisa) and Garret. Mitch Holleman as"Garret Gilbertson" A little bit more immature than other kids his age, Garret is often quite annoying. He is addicted to cartoons and it was discovered in the second season that he has a case of schizophrenia that seems to worsen. He doesn't make friends real well, but does have one good friend, Jordan Michaels. Jake Epstein as"Damien Lavdin" Moved to Wisconsin from Florida, next door to the Gilbertsons in the middle of season one, Damien and his parents became a huge part of the Gilbertsons lives. Damien and Nina started out as a crush but when it was revealed that Damien is bisexual things were put to a hault, that is until one night when him and Nina were drunk...Nina ended up pregnant due to the events that took place that night. In season two Damien became addicted to some pills and was forced to go to a recovery center where found a playmate, a male playmate, which later might cause some problems down the road for his pregnant girlfriend. Sharon Gless as"Yvonne Lavdin" Mother of Damien and mother figure to Amy. Yvonne is a very warm hearted person who would do anything for anybody, including the Gilbertsons. Yvonne had trouble dealing with the fact that her son was going to be a dad at first but she quickly accepted things and took Nina into her home. David Boreanaz as"Derrick Luxor" Connected to Amy through high school, they dated, he came back in town to open his own firm. He often just helped Amy with lawyer type stuff until their relationship became romantic halfway into the second season. Sarah Strange as"Sheryl Gilbertson" Left her three kids: Amy, Karisa, and Garret when Garret was only a year or two old. She keeps her life secret and hidden and all she wants know is to know her kids and who've they've become. |
Emily VanCamp as"Karisa Gilbertson" High school has always been rough for her, but she gets excellent grades. At first kids used to call her "TES" standing for (one of the emancipated sisters) but after she became friends with Nina, miss popular, things settled down for her. Karisa had her first serious boyfriend in season one with popular badass Emmett Gun. She got a job at the local grocery store and became friends with co-worker, and student at school, John Rock who turned out to be her neighbor on the other side of her house. In the second season Karisa gives things a try with John and the two grow strong together. Keri Lynn Pratt as"Nina Vaunt" Always had been popular and rich Nina finds out what things are like on the other side after falling for bisexual newbie, Damien Lavdin. After getting pregnant her parents disown her and she has no where else to go. The Lavdins end up taking her in and she has a rough time dealing with being a pregnant teen. Matt Long as"John Rock" Lived next door to the Gilbertsons until the end of season one after his dead was arrested for beating him and his mom, they moved to a bigger city nearby, Colfax Central. When all the St. Dunn High students had to attend Colfax High during the second season due to a twister that destroyed most of St. Dunn, John and Karisa were able to have a second chance. Jack Wetherall as"Robert Lavdin" Robert was born in Miami, Florida and lived there until he was in high school, when he moved to Jacksonville, Florida to get away from the big city. Here he met Yvonne Lavdin. They fell in love, got married, and had one son, Damien. After he was bashed for being bi-sexual, Robert and his family moved to St. Dunn to start a new life. He now works as an automobile mechanic at a local garage. Stephanie Niznik as"Barbara Wic" Aspired to be a performer when she was young, worked hard at paying her dues for it too. When she fell in love with badass, troublemaker, Tom, who ends up cheating on her on their wedding day, her life is turned upside. Tom begins abusing her and Barbara turns cold. She is able to save herself, only by killing him. Now Barbara is the supervisor of SuperValu after she has worked their nearly 20 years. She is a bitch to everyone for no apparant reason...or so they think. |
